Teaser Tuesday: July 21st

Happy Tuesday!!  Missed this book release by about a week – but today I’m teasing The Night Ferry by Michael Robotham.  It was a NetGalley download and it released 7/14/15!  (Although now I’m looking into it and it appears it may just be an e-book release and really came out in 2007!)

“Sucking on my glued teeth, I went back to my classes.  People treated me differently.  Something had happened that day.  The scales had fallen from my eyes; the earth had rotated the required number of times and I said goodbye to childhood.”
(7% into book)

What do you think?  Still early for me – we’ll see where it goes!!  Please leave your teaser in the comments and thanks for coming by today!

Book Description:

Struggling detective Alisha Barba is trying to get her life back on track after almost being crippled by a murder suspect. Now on her feet again, she receives a desperate plea from an old school friend, who is eight months pregnant and in trouble. On the night they arrange to meet, her friend is run down and killed by a car and Alisha discovers the first in a series of haunting and tragic deceptions.

Determined to uncover the truth, she embarks upon a dangerous journey that will take her from the East End of London to Amsterdam’s murky red light district and into a violent underworld of sex trafficking, slavery and exploitation.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB/Jenn of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
